I believe that these "Industry Leaders" use these words for 2 reasons.

1. They are the Industry Leaders, and that's what they do.

2. They say things like TAP, SEO, SMO, CPC, DNS, ROP, OTO, PUR, CPP, CUME, Aggregate, Taxonomy… To suggest to their clients that they actually know what they're talking about, therefor getting them to spend money on something they don't really need.

It's the same reason that Politicians use words like Bi-Partisan or Fiscal Irresponsibility, or Incumbent. WTF? Does anyone else besides Politicians and Political people know what that means? NO! SO SHUT THE EFF UP AND USE WORDS I UNDERSTAND!

I can tell you that the way of doing business is going to be changing DRASTICALLY in the near future. No longer will it be, "I'm smarter than you so you should give me money." Instead it will be "Please hire me, our economy sucks and I'll do whatever it takes."

As a consumer I could give two shits to know wtf you know. I do what I do because I know what I know. If I wanted to know what you know, I would be doing what you're doing.

And you can quote me on that last one.

What I am suggesting here is not a best practice and could eventually kill your seo in the long run. There are proper ways to use no index no follow to help actually boost your seo (see the link below). This post that I wrote is specifically for say, posting a online portfolio, proofing page or something your don't want a client or employer to see or especially not have come up in a search when they google your website, while still maintaing the ablity to email a link to someone to access the page. Wordpress is pretty powerful right out of the box, but with some of these plug-ins, you can easily tame the crazy search engine crawling on personal sites like this one. - of course this is my opinion and your milage may very and the plug-ins could eat all the cheese on your server... so take everything with a grain of salt. - cheers, Wally-
