Oblivion Remastered is sucking hours off my lifespan at the moment. However I wanted to install a few quality of life mods from Nexus thought their Vortex Mod Loader. I got this error:
Windows prevented Vortex from loading files necessary to complete the installation. This is often caused if you extracted Vortex manually instead of running the installer or because your windows setup or third party software modified access permissions for these files. Please install Vortex or unblock all dil and exe files manually. Error
The maddening thing is that even on the nexus forums and even reddit, everyone references a solution and a fix, but every link is an endless loop to other people looking for a solution. It’s quite maddening. After about 3 hours of digging I finally found the solution!

SOLUTION: Download and reinstall Microsoft .NET runtime 6.0.
